January 2006 BLUECHIP LAMI n LIGHT had a very successful year in 2006. Together with Ron they were the Best Novice Champions and therefore qualified for HOYS. Sky broadcast the competitions over the networks and Ron and the other Scurry competitors enjoyed full TV coverage. This was the first time this team had competed indoors and all parties stood up to the enormous crowd at such a prestigious place. BLUE n CHIP were driven by both Jenny and Ron during 2005. By driving two rounds certainly helped Ron achieve his goal of qualifying for HOYS. This type of combination is adopted by most other competitors i.e. to drive a small pair of ponies and a large pair of ponies. In doing so it means that the driver has two bites of the apple, so to speak. However, until now Jenny and Ron were unable to take more than two pair of ponies to a show. I am sure that Blue n Chip will be driven again by both Jen and Ron at different shows during 2006. DUN n DUSTED improved with every outing they had. Jenny thoroughly enjoyed the exitement a new pair of ponies brings. There were no incidents and and they coped with all the traumus of travel, spectators and competitions. Jenny will be letting the reins out a bit more during this 2006 season but as they are still youngsters they still have a lot of learning to do. So each show is still concidered a training exercise for this new pair. February 2005 Having been voted onto the Scurry Driving Association Council and then being voted to Treasurer Jenny will more than have her work cut out this year. In addition to this we acquired two new ponies last August. They were unbroken brothers Welsh x New Forest Duns. Jenny has spent a lot of time long-reining them and preparing them for traffic. We are pleased to announce that they are now driving very nicely as a pair and will be on circuit this year. Being a pair of Duns we deciced the only name suitable for them is “DUN ‘n’ DUSTED”. We shall, of course adopt the prefix of our sponsor and therefore they will compete under the names of “BLUECHIP DUN n DUSTED”. Also, due to the launch of a new product from Bluechip Feeds we have decided to change the names of Pro and Dynamic to “BLUECHIP LAMI ‘n’ LITE”. Look out for us at the shows and come and say hello. We also have three new grooms and they are - Fay, Kelsie and Laura who’s training is also coming on very nicely. Ryan is also hoping to attend a number of shows with us again this year. January 2005 2004 was a very busy year for us. Peri joined us as a novice to pony driving which meant she had a lot to learn about carriage driving and competitions. She welcomed the chance to join our team. We had many good times riding out, driving the ponies, and going to shows. However, Peri spoke frequently of getting her own pony on which she could do show jumping so we wish her all the very best in her chosen equine discipline. Ryan was able to attend a few shows this year and hopes to do more next year with us. |
